Agriculture University of Tirana (UBT) – “Skender Xhiku” hall
A workshop co-organized by Project Pema and Agriculture University of Tirana
Adrion program (a EU supported interreg program dedicated to cooperation in the Adriatic-Ionian macroregion) is set to offer Western Balkans Institutions a tremendous opportunity to build projects towards pilot actions for development of macroregional pillars including the blue economy, environmental sustainability, circular economy, mobility networks and sustainable tourism.
In the agriculture domain the opportunity exists to build projects connecting western balkan public and private institutions to EU institutions to stregthen the ties towards systems that accrue quality and safety within all value chain processes.
One detected challenge for Albania is to build agrifood value chains that rest on strengthened capacity to guarantee quality all along the post-harvest process and increase the export potential of local products.
Project Pema in collaboration with UBT experts and National Agency of qualifications (AKAFPK) has recently introduced a new qualification and curriculum for a professional profile of “quality manager of agriculture processes”.
Much more work is to be done to guarantee safety and quality in agrifood value chains in the entire western balkan region.
This workshop, hosted by UBT will host a delegation of Emilia-Romagna Region, the Managing Authority of the Adrion program, in a fruitful exchange of views of how to benefit from a network of competences for the development of agriculture and agrifood value chains in Albania.
Projects already submitted to Adrion calls and next ideas to be submitted will be at the center of the discussion to increase the dialogue and output potential of the macroregional program.
